Starter solenoid 4.4L (Discovery 3)

Removing

1. Remove the starter. For more information refer to Starter (86.60.01)

2. Disconnect the starter terminal cover.



3. Disconnect the starter terminal. Loosen the nut.



4. Turn out bolts of a starter.

CAUTION: The starter motor rotor must remain inside the motor housing.

Remove the starter from the transmission housing.



6. Turn out screws of the electromagnetic valve of a starter.



7.

WARNING: Gears and bearings must remain in the transmission housing.

Remove the starter solenoid valve.

Installation

1.

WARNING: Gears and bearings must remain in the transmission case.

Install the starter solenoid valve to the transmission housing.

2. Install the starter solenoid valve screws. Tighten (tightening torque 10 Nm).

3. Install the starter on the transmission case.

4. Screw in the starter bolts. Tighten (tightening torque 10 Nm).

5. Fasten the starter terminal. tighten the nut (tightening torque 5 Nm).

6. Attach the starter terminal cover.

7. Install starter. For more information refer to Starter (86.60.01)
