Removing
1. Disconnect the wire "masses" from the battery. For more information refer to Specification.
2.
WARNING: Do not work on or under the vehicle if it is only supported by a jack. Always place secure supports under the vehicle.
Raise and support the vehicle.
3. Remove the lower engine protection cover. For more information refer to Motor Protection (76.10.50)
4. Empty the fuel cooler. Turn out a bolt of fastening.
5. Reposition the fuel cooler and fuel filter housing. Turn out two bolts of fastening.
6. Turn out a bolt of fastening of a plait of electroconducting.
7. Remove the starter mounting bracket. Turn out 4 bolts of fastening.
8. Rearrange the starter. Turn out two bolts of fastening.
9. Remove the starter.
- Reposition the rubber insulator.
- Remove the two nuts securing the starter wiring harness.
Installation
1. Install the starter.
- Tighten the battery positive terminal nut (tightening torque 11 Nm).
- Tighten the solenoid output nut (tightening torque 7 Nm).
- Reposition the rubber insulator.
3. Establish a bolt of fastening of a plait of electroconducting. tighten bolt (tightening torque 10 Nm).

CAUTION: The starter mounting bracket must be installed. Failure to do so may result in vehicle damage.
Install the starter mounting bracket. Install and tighten 4 bolts (tightening torque 10 Nm).
5. Reposition the fuel cooler and fuel filter housing. Install and tighten 2 bolts (tightening torque 10 Nm).
6. Connect the fuel cooler. Install and tighten bolt (tightening torque 10 Nm).
7. Install the lower engine cover. For more information refer to Motor Protection (76.10.50)
8. Connect the wire "masses" to the battery. For more information refer to Specification.
