Glow plug module (Discovery 3)

Removing

NOTE: The glow plug assembly is an integral part of the engine control unit and is not serviceable as a separate part.

1. Disconnect the wire "masses" from the battery. For more information refer to Specification.

2. Remove the AWD control unit (4WD). For more information refer to Four Wheel Drive Control Module (4WD) (41.30.01)

NOTE: Right hand drive vehicle shown, reverse order on left hand drive vehicle.

Disconnect the 3 electrical connectors of the glow plug assembly in the order shown. Move aside the 3 engine wiring harness electrical connectors for easy access.



4. Remove the glow plug assembly mounting plate. Turn out 4 fixing bolts.



5. Remove the glow plug assembly. Remove the top cover of the glow plug block.

Installation

1. Install the glow plug assembly. Install the top cover of the glow plug assembly.

2. Install the glow plug assembly mounting plate. Screw in 4 fixing bolts.

3. Connect the 3 electrical connectors of the glow plug assembly.

4. Install the AWD control unit (4WD). For more information refer to Four Wheel Drive Control Module (4WD) (41.30.01)

5. Connect the wire "masses" to the battery. For more information refer to Specification.

6. Connect T4 to calibrate the new ECM.
