General information
The major components of the 4.0L V6 fuel system include the fuel tank, fuel pump module, fuel filler assembly, and two fuel gauges.
The fuel system of the 4.0L V6 engine uses a fuel pump module that is installed in the fuel tank and maintains a constant pressure level in the fuel manifolds from which fuel is supplied to the injectors. Fuel manifolds and injectors are discussed in the section "Fuel system and charging system" for 4.0L V6 engine. For more information refer to Fuel Charging and Controls (303-04A Fuel Charging and Controls - 4.0L)
The system for reducing the toxicity of exhaust gases is discussed in the section "Exhaust emission control system" for 4.0L V6 engine. For more information refer to Engine Emission Control (303-08A)
