Exhaust gas recirculation system (EGR)
Location of EGR components and crankcase ventilation system
Item name | Spare part number | Description |
1 | - | Full load tube |
2 | - | pressure regulator (PCV) |
3 | - | Partial load tube |
4 | - | EGR pipe |
5 | - | EGR valve |
6 | - | Electronic throttle |
The EGR system is controlled by PWM signals sent by the ECM. The system includes an EGR valve and a gas pipe.
The EGR valve is driven by a 4-pole stepper motor with built-in cooler mounted on the side of the inlet. The EGR valve is cooled by the coolant returned from the throttle valve.
A gas pipe connects the EGR valve to the left exhaust manifold.
Crankcase ventilation
The V8 engine ventilation system consists of a partial load ventilation circuit and a full load ventilation circuit.
The partial load breather is a flexible, compound tube that connects the PCV valve, mounted above the oil separator in the bank A camshaft cover, to the inlet. Positive crankcase ventilation valve (PCV) blocks the return flow to the crankcase.
The full load breather is a flexible hose that connects the oil separator located in the Bank B camshaft cover to the air inlet.
The breather hoses are equipped with quick connectors.
The oil separator is a wire mesh packed housing located under the breather.
