Removing
1. Disconnect a wire of weight from the storage battery. For more information refer to Specification.

WARNING: It is forbidden to carry out work on a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always place secure supports under the vehicle.
Raise and place the vehicle on stands.
3. Remove the transmission cross member. For more information, refer to Transmission Crossmember (76.10.09 or 76.10.92)
4. Release the right rear HO2S harness. Disconnect the electrical connector.
5. Disconnect the catalytic converter from the exhaust manifold. Loosen and discard 2 bolts.
6. Remove the catalytic converter.
- Loosen 2 nuts.
- Discard the gasket.

NOTE: Do not proceed with further disassembly if the element is removed only for access.
Using the special tool, remove both HO2S sensors from the catalytic converter.
Installation
1.
CAUTION: Be careful not to get grease on the tip of the HO2S.
Using the special tool, install the HO2S to the catalytic converter and tighten to 45 Nm.
- Clear the elements.
- Apply grease to the threads of the HO2S.
- Clear the elements.
- Install a new gasket.
- Tighten the nuts to 55 Nm.
- Clear the elements.
- Tighten the new bolts to 22 Nm.

CAUTION: Make sure the heated oxygen sensor harness is not bent more than 180 degrees and is not touching the exhaust manifold or driveshaft.
Connect the HO2S electrical connectors. Attach the HO2S harness.
6. Connect a wire of weight to the storage battery. For more information refer to Specification.
