Removing
1. Disconnect a wire of weight from the accumulator. For more information refer to Specification.
2.
WARNING: Do not remove the coolant expansion tank cap when the system is hot, as steam or coolant escaping from the cap could cause serious injury such as scalding.
WARNING: Coolant that comes into contact with the paintwork can damage it. If you spill coolant, remove it immediately and flush the area with water.
Pinch clamps and disconnect the hoses from the expansion tank of the cooling system.
- Remove the expansion tank cap.
- Lay down an absorbent cloth to soak up spilled liquid.
- Place a container to catch spilled liquid.
- Release 2 clamps.
4. Loosen the power steering fluid reservoir and move the reservoir aside. Release the clamp.
5. Move the vacuum pump aside for better access.
- Turn out 3 bolts.
- Remove the remaining expansion tank bracket bolt.
6. Remove a broad tank of a cooling liquid.
- Raise the coolant expansion tank vertically with the bracket.
- Disconnect the low coolant level sensor electrical connector.
7.
NOTE: Do not proceed with further disassembly if the part is being removed only for access.
Remove the power steering mounting bracket.
Installation
1.
NOTE: Install a new low coolant level sensor if it is not part of the new expansion tank.
Install the power steering reservoir mounting bracket.
2. Install the coolant expansion tank.
- Connect the low coolant level sensor electrical connector.
- Put the coolant expansion tank in its original place, finding the bushing and bracket.
- tighten bolt (tightening torque 10 Nm).
4. Install the power steering fluid reservoir. Put in place and secure to the mounting bracket.
5. Reinstall the filler neck of the windshield washer reservoir. Insert into clamp.
6. Connect the coolant hoses to the expansion tank.
- Fasten with clips.
- Remove the clamps from the coolant hoses.
8. Connect a wire of weight to the storage battery. For more information refer to Specification.
9. Remove air from the cooling system.
- Remove the expansion tank cap.
- Connect the exhaust hoses to the rear exhaust pipes.
- Start the engine and let it run.
- Keep the engine speed at 3000 rpm for 1 minute.
- Let the engine run at idle for 5 minutes.
- Keep the engine speed at 3000 rpm for 1 minute.
- When performing the bleed procedure (with expansion tank cap removed) keep the coolant level approximately 30mm ABOVE the maximum cold level.
11. Install the expansion tank cap after verifying that the final coolant level is 30mm above the maximum cold level.
