Right exhaust manifold (Discovery 3)

Removing

1. Disconnect the wire "masses" from the battery. For more information refer to Specification.

2. Remove the exhaust system. For more information refer to Exhaust System (30.10.08)

3. Remove the wing mudguard. For more information refer to Fender Mudguard (76.10.48)

NOTE: The heat shield consists of three parts.

To gain access, remove the heat shields of the upper control arm and brake pipe.

• Loosen 3 nuts.
• Turn out 3 bolts.

5. Remove the exhaust manifold.

• Remove 8 bolts.
• Assemble the spacers and discard the bolts.
• Remove the gasket/heat shield mounting bolt.
• Discard the gasket/heat shield.

Installation

1. Clean the contact surfaces of the parts.

2. Install the exhaust manifold.

• Install the gasket/heat shield.
• Tighten the heat shield bolt (tightening torque 25 Nm).
• Tighten the bolts evenly and progressively in sequence to 20 Nm.

NOTE: The heat shield consists of three parts.

Install the heat shields for the upper control arm and brake pipe.

• Screw in the bolts.
• Tighten the nuts.

4. Install the wing mudguard. For more information refer to Fender Mudguard (76.10.48)

5. Install the exhaust system. For more information refer to Exhaust System (30.10.08)

6. Connect the wire "masses" to the battery. For more information refer to Specification.
