Oil pump (Discovery 3)

Removing

1. Disconnect the wire "masses" from the battery. For more information refer to Specification.

2. Remove the elements of the gas distribution mechanism. For more information refer to Timing mechanism components (12.65.13)

3. Remove the oil pan. For more information refer to Oil Sump (12.60.44)

4. Remove the intake tube of the oil receiver with a strainer.

• Turn out 3 bolts.
• Remove the O-ring and discard it.

5. Remove the oil pump assembly.

• Turn out 4 bolts.
• Remove the gasket and discard it.
• Clean the contact surfaces of the parts.

Installation

1. Install the oil pump assembly.

• Install a new gasket.
• Tighten the bolts with a torque of 10 Nm.

2. Install the oil pickup tube with strainer.

• Install the sealing ring.
• tighten bolt (tightening torque 6 Nm).
• Tighten the bolts with a torque of 10 Nm.

3. Install the oil pan. For more information refer to Oil Sump (12.60.44)

4. Install the elements of the gas distribution mechanism. For more information refer to Engine front cover (12.65.01)
