Removing
1. Disconnect the wire "masses" from the battery. For more information refer to Specification.

WARNING: It is forbidden to carry out work on a vehicle standing on only one jack. Always support the vehicle with jack stands.
Raise and support the vehicle.
3. Remove the accessory drive belt. For more information refer to Drive Belt Accessories (86.10.03)
4. Remove the cooling fan shroud.
- Loosen the 2 cooling fan shroud clips.
- Loosen and remove the lower cooling fan shroud from the radiator.
5. Use special tools to block the crankshaft pulley.

CAUTION: Under no circumstances use the crankshaft locating pin, 303-645, to lock the crankshaft when following the procedure below.
NOTE: The crankshaft pulley bolt is too tight.
Turn out a bolt of fastening of a pulley of a cranked shaft. Discard the bolt.
7. Remove special tools.
8. Using the special tools, remove the crankshaft pulley. Pick up the retaining ring.
9. Remove the special tools from the crankshaft pulley.
10. Using the special tool, remove the crankshaft front oil seal.
- Remove the outer half of the seal.
- Repeat this process to remove the inner half of the oil seal.
11. Inspect the crankshaft damping clutch pulley and circlip for damage.
Installation
1. Clean all contact surfaces of the crankshaft pulley.
2. Using the special tools, install the crankshaft front oil seal.
- Lubricate the seal with clean engine oil.
- Use the rejected crankshaft pulley bolt with a special tool.
3. Install the crankshaft pulley. Lubricate the seal with clean engine oil.
4. Install the crankshaft pulley circlip.

CAUTION: Before installing a new crankshaft pulley bolt, the threads in the pulley must be cleaned.
Install the crankshaft pulley bolt, but do not tighten it.

CAUTION: Under no circumstances use the crankshaft locating pin, 303-645, to lock the crankshaft when following the procedure below.
Block the crankshaft pulley using special tools. Tighten the crankshaft pulley bolt (tightening torque 380 Nm).
7. Remove special tools.
8. Install the lower cooling fan shroud.
9. Put on the accessory drive belt. For more information refer to Drive Belt Accessories (86.10.03)
10. Connect the wire "masses" to the battery. For more information refer to Specification.
