General information
The V6 petrol engine is a 4.0 liter 6-cylinder V-twin engine with a 60 degree camber angle, 2 valves per cylinder and a single overhead camshaft. Engine exhaust emissions meet the requirements of European environmental regulations ECD4 and US federal legislation Tier 2 Bin 8; to limit the emission of harmful substances in the engine, catalytic converters, an electronic engine management system, forced crankcase ventilation and an exhaust gas recirculation system were used. The engine cooling system has a small volume and high coolant flow. The fuel injection system is controlled by the engine control unit (ECM).
The cylinder block is made of cast iron alloy with a cast aluminum ladder structure and balancer shaft bolted to the bottom of the block. The cylinder heads are cast aluminum and have vinyl ester composite camshaft covers. The non-separable oil pan is made of stamped steel. The intake manifold is cast aluminum and includes a central reservoir with six inlets. To reduce the noise level from the engine, a noise-insulating plastic cover is installed on top of it.
