Knock sensors are installed on the cylinder block in two different places. One is on the inside of the right bank of cylinders and the other is on the front of the left side of the cylinder block, next to the oil pressure sensor. They are piezoelectric sensors that generate a signal to detect and localize combustion knock. For more information refer to Electronic Engine Controls (303-14A Electronic Engine Controls - 4.0L)
Oil pressure sensor

The oil pressure sensor is located in a hole on the front of the left side of the cylinder block. It detects when safe operating pressure is reached when starting the engine and turns on the warning light on the instrument panel if the oil pressure drops below a predetermined value. The sensor is triggered in the pressure range from 0.15 to 0.41 bar.
Block heater
On vehicles intended for markets with a cold climate, a cylinder block heater is installed in front of the left side of the cylinder block.
