Removing
1. Disconnect the wire "masses" from the battery. For more information, refer to Specification
2. Remove the torque converter flexible plate. For more information refer to Floppy Disk (12.53.13)
3. Remove the plug of the intermediate shaft of the cylinder block. Move the part to remove it.
4. Using the special tool, remove the right countershaft drive cassette and sprocket bolt. Loosen and discard the Torx head bolt.
5. Remove the left camshaft drive cassette assembly. For more information refer to Left Camshaft Drive Cassette (12.65.36)
6. Remove the oil pump drive gear.
- Turn out a bolt.
- Remove the clamp.
- Remove the O-ring and discard it.
7. Remove the intermediate shaft thrust plate. Remove 2 Torx head screws.
8. Remove the intermediate shaft. Select a spacer.
Installation
1. Install the intermediate shaft.
- Clean the contact surfaces of the parts.
- Install the camshaft spacer.
- Lubricate the parts with clean engine oil.
NOTE: The groove in the thrust plate must face towards the cylinder block.
Install the intermediate shaft thrust plate.
- Clean the contact surfaces of the parts.
- Lubricate the parts with clean engine oil.
- Tighten Torx Head Bolts (tightening torque 10 Nm).
3. Install the oil pump drive gear.
- Clear the details.
- Lubricate the parts with clean engine oil.
- Install a new sealing ring.
- Install the clamp.
- tighten bolt (tightening torque 20 Nm).
5. Using the special tool, install the right countershaft drive cassette and sprocket bolt.
- Clean the contact surfaces of the parts.
- Using the special tool, tighten the new countershaft sprocket bolt to 40 Nm and then another 45 degrees.
6. Establish a cap of an intermediate shaft of the block of cylinders. Clean the contact surfaces of the parts.
7. Install the torque converter flexible plate. For more information refer to Floppy Disk (12.53.13)
8. Connect the wire "masses" to the battery. For more information, refer to Specification
