Removing
1. Disconnect the wire "masses" from the battery. For more information, refer to Specification
2. Secure the hood in the service position.
3. Raise and support the vehicle.
4. Drain the liquid from the cooling system. For more information, refer to Draining/Filling Coolant and Bleeding the Cooling System (26.10.01)
5. Drain engine oil. For more information, refer to Draining and Refilling Engine Oil (12.60.05)

NOTE: Early models require a partial release of the fuel rail to allow the intake manifold to be removed.
Remove the intake manifold. For more information refer to Intake Manifold (30.15.02)
7. Remove the battery tray. For more information, refer to Battery Mounting Shelf (76.10.30)
8. Disconnect 2 electric sockets of block ECM.
9. Release the wiring harness from the manifold.
- Release 2 clips
- Move the wiring harness to the side
10. Remove the accessory drive belt. For more information refer to Drive Belt Accessories (86.10.03)
11. Remove the lower fan shroud. Release the 2 clips on the lower cooling fan shroud.
12. Install a shield to protect the heatsink core from damage.
13. Disconnect the electrical connectors of the generator. Disconnect the electrical connector.
14. Move the radiator support bracket aside.
- Turn out 3 bolts.
- Release the wiring harness clamp.
- Remove and discard wire tie.

WARNING: This operation leaves the A/C system fully charged, so care must be taken when moving the assembly aside.
Move the A/C compressor support bracket to the side.
- Disconnect the air conditioning compressor electrical connector.
- Release the retaining clip for the left electrical connector KS.
- Turn out 4 bolts.
16. Disconnect the engine oil pressure sensor electrical connector (EOP).
17. Disconnect the engine ground wire. Loosen the nut.
18. Disconnect pipelines of system of cooling of a transmission.
- Loosen the nut.
- Set the item aside.
19. Remove the EGR pipeline. Loosen the EGR union nut and disconnect the pipeline.
20. Make sure the wheels are in the straight-ahead position, and then remove the top clamp bolt. Discard the mounting bolt.
21. Turn out a bolt of a collar of a cardan hinge of a steering column. Discard the mounting bolt.
22. Release fastening of the top shaft of a steering column.
23. Release fastening and remove a shaft in gathering with the hinge.
24. Remove the coolant pump hose.
- Set the item aside.
- Release the clamp.
25. Disconnect the two engine oil cooler coolant hoses. Release 2 clips.
26. Remove the transmission heat shield. Turn out 4 bolts.
27. Disconnect the left catalytic converter monitoring sensor electrical connector. Release the heated oxygen sensor harness from the bracket.
28. Disconnect the left catalytic converter from the exhaust manifold. Turn out 2 bolts.
29. Disconnect the right catalytic converter monitoring sensor electrical connector. Release the heated oxygen sensor harness from the bracket.
30. Disconnect the right catalytic converter from an exhaust manifold. Turn out 2 bolts.
31. Disconnect the electrical connector for the engine oil temperature sensor.
32. Release the starter mount. Turn out 2 bolts.
33. Release the wiring harness bracket. Loosen 2 nuts.
34. Disconnect the electrical connector of the crankshaft position sensor (TFR).
35. Install the engine jack.
- Tighten the bolts (tightening torque 45 Nm).
- Tighten the nuts evenly and gradually (tightening torque 25 Nm).
36. Loosen the flex plate mounting.
- Rotate the crankshaft to gain access to the mounting bolts.
- Turn out 4 bolts.
37. Release the heat shield of the fuel line and purge line.
- Turn out 2 bolts.
- Move the fuel line shield to the side to gain access.

CAUTION: Support the engine. When the transmission is removed, the engine will drop forward.
Turn out bolts of fastening of a transmission.
- Attach lifting chains.
- Support the gearbox.
- Remove 8 bolts.

CAUTION: Make sure the torque converter remains attached to the transmission.
Remove the engine.
- Loosen the 2 engine mount nuts.
- Remove the right engine mount.
- Raise the engine.
- With the help of a second mechanic, carefully remove the engine.
40. Install the torque converter holder.
