Starter
The starter is installed in the right rear part of the ladder structure, at the junction of the cylinder block with the ladder structure. For more information refer to Starting System (303-06C Starting System - 2.7L Diesel).
Drain plug of the cooling system
Two drain plugs of the cooling system are located in the cylinder block: one on the right rear side and the other in the center of the cylinder block on the left side.
Block heater
Vehicles with the cold climate package use an engine block heater instead of a plug in the center of the cylinder block on the left side.
Coolant pump

The coolant pump is located on the left side of the front wall of the cylinder block and is secured with three bolts using an o-ring. The coolant pump is driven by the crankshaft via a V-ribbed belt.
