Item name | Spare part number | Description |
1 | - | Left exhaust manifold |
2 | - | Right exhaust manifold |
Cast alloy steel exhaust manifolds are not interchangeable. The sealing of the connections between the manifolds and the cylinder head is provided by a steel gasket. Deformable plastic bushings are used to align the collectors. When reassembling the collectors, these bushings must be replaced. Spacer bushings on mounting bolts allow manifolds to expand and contract with temperature changes while maintaining clamping forces.
Each manifold has a connection for the EGR bypass pipe.
The engine is equipped with a variable geometry turbocharger (VGT), which is attached to the exhaust manifold by means of a flange with three holes and a steel gasket.
Bypass tube
The bypass pipe is used to bypass exhaust gases from the right exhaust manifold to the turbocharger on the left exhaust manifold. The bypass pipe is located at the rear of the engine and is routed over the flared portion of the transmission housing.
