Removing
1. Disconnect the wire "masses" from the battery. For more information, refer to Specification
2. Remove the engine cover. For more information refer to Engine Cover - 2.7L Diesel (12.30.50)
3. Loosen the air intake air damper elbow bracket. Turn out a bolt.
4. Loosen the air intake air damper elbow bracket.
- Loosen the clamp.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
5. Remove the air intake air damper elbow bracket. Turn out three bolts.
6. Remove the fan shroud. For more information refer to Cooling Fan Shroud (26.25.11)
7. Remove the crankshaft pulley damper. Remove six bolts.

WARNING: It is forbidden to carry out work on a vehicle standing on only one jack. Always support the vehicle with jack stands.
Raise and support the vehicle.
9. Drain the coolant from the cooling system. For more information, refer to Draining/Filling Coolant and Bleeding the Cooling System (26.10.01)
10. Disconnect the coolant hose from the outlet elbow on the cylinder head.
- Loosen the coolant hose clamp.
- Reposition the top coolant hose.
11. Remove the auxiliary drive belt idler pulley. Turn out a bolt.

NOTE: The illustration shows the right side, the left side is the same procedure.
Remove the clamps of the outlet pipe of the valve of the bypass system of exhaust gases (EGR) from the timing cover. Turn out a bolt.
13. Disconnect the right EGR coolant inlet hose from the EGR cooler. Remove the clamp from the coolant hose.
14. Take the EGR coolant hose to the side so that it does not block access to other parts.
15. Remove the coolant pump pulley and auxiliary drive belt idler pulley. Remove six bolts.
16. Remove the timing belt cover.
- Completely loosen the 16 bolts securing the timing belt cover.
- Remove 2 wire harness clips.
Installation
1. Install the timing belt cover.
- Install 2 wire harness clamps.
- Tighten the 16 timing belt cover bolts (tightening torque 10 Nm).
3. Connect the right EGR coolant inlet hose to the EGR cooler. Install the coolant hose clamp.
4. Attach the valve outlet pipe clamps (EGR) on the timing cover. Screw in 2 bolts.
5. Connect the coolant hose to the outlet elbow on the cylinder head. Install the clamp.
6. Install the accessory drive belt idler pulley. screw in the bolt (tightening torque 47 Nm).
7. Install the crankshaft pulley damper. Screw six bolts (tightening torque 23 Nm).
8. Install the fan shroud. For more information refer to Cooling Fan Shroud (26.25.11)
9. Install the air intake air damper elbow bracket mount. Screw in three bolts (tightening torque 10 Nm).
10. Install the air intake air damper elbow bracket.
- Install the clamp.
- Screw in the bolt.
- Connect the electrical connector.
12. Connect the wire "masses" to the battery. For more information refer to Specification.
13. Fill the cooling system and remove air from it. For more information, refer to Draining/Filling Coolant and Bleeding the Cooling System (26.10.01)
