Removing
NOTE: Throttle position sensor (TP) is part of the throttle assembly and is not serviceable as a separate part.
1. Disconnect a wire of weight from the accumulator. For more information refer to Specification.
2. Remove the engine cover. For more information refer to Engine Cover - 4.0L (12.30.50)
3. Remove the air intake resonator.
4. Disconnect the TP sensor electrical connector.

WARNING: Do not remove the coolant expansion tank cap when the system is hot, as steam or coolant escaping from the cap could cause serious injury such as scalding.
Disconnect the coolant hoses from the throttle body.
- To minimize coolant loss, clamp the throttle body coolant hoses.
- Release the throttle body hose clamps.
- Turn out 4 bolts.
- Remove the throttle body gasket and discard it as no longer needed.
Installation
1. Install the throttle body.
- Clean the mating surfaces of the elements.
- Install a new gasket.
- Tighten 4 bolts (tightening torque 10 Nm).
- Attach the throttle body hose clamps.
- Remove the clamps from the throttle body hoses.
4. Install the air intake resonator.
5. Install the engine cover. For more information refer to Engine Cover - 4.0L (12.30.50)
6. Connect a wire of weight to the storage battery. For more information refer to Specification.
7. Check coolant level, top up if necessary.
8. Use T4 to calibrate the new TP sensor.
