Engine control module 4.4L (Discovery 3)

Removing

NOTE: When replacing the ECM, connect the T4 before disconnecting the battery and follow the on-screen instructions.

1. Disconnect the wire "masses" from the battery. For more information refer to Specification.

2. Remove the AWD control unit. For more information refer to Four Wheel Drive Control Module (4WD) (41.30.01)

3. Remove the ECM cover.

• Disconnect the 2 electrical connectors for access.
• Disconnect the 2 electrical connectors on the ECM.
• Remove 4 Torx head screws.

4. Remove the ECM. Remove the ECM top cover.

Installation

1. Install the ECM.

• Install the ECM cover and secure with Torx head screws.
• Install the ECM top cover.

2. Connect the ECM electrical connectors.

3. Dock 2 electrical connectors undocked for access.

4. Establish the block of management of system of a full drive. For more information refer to Four Wheel Drive Control Module (4WD) (41.30.01)

5. Connect the wire "masses" to the battery. For more information refer to Specification.

6. Connect T4 to calibrate the new ECM.
