Clutch slave cylinder (Discovery 3)

Removing

NOTE: The clutch release bearing is supplied with the clutch slave cylinder assembly.

1.

WARNING: It is forbidden to carry out work on a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always place secure supports under the vehicle.

Raise and support the vehicle.

2. Remove a transmission. For more information refer to Gearbox (37.20.02.99)

CAUTION: Be sure to plug all open connections to avoid contamination of the system.

NOTE: Place a cloth to catch spilled liquid.

Remove the fluid line.

• Remove the clamp.
• Turn out a bolt.
• Remove the clamp.
• Remove and discard the O-ring.

4. Remove the clutch slave cylinder and clutch release bearing assembly. Turn out 3 bolts.

Installation

1. Install the clutch slave cylinder assembly with the clutch release bearing.

• Clean the contact surfaces of the parts.
• Tighten the bolts with a tightening torque of 10 Nm.

2. Install the fluid line.

• Clean the contact surfaces of the parts.
• Install a new sealing ring.
• Install the clamp.
• Install the clamp.
• Tighten the bolt with a tightening torque of 10 Nm.

3. Install the gearbox. For more information refer to Gearbox (37.20.02.99)
