Until all vehicle systems have been tested, a full road test is not required. Instead, you can select only those nodes that are directly related to the system being checked (systems).
Preliminary checks
CAUTION: If the brake fluid level is low, the brake pedal has excessive travel, or a leak is found in the hydraulic system, do not road test the vehicle until the cause of the problem has been identified and corrected.
Before testing on a roller stand or before a road test, it is always recommended to carry out preliminary and functional checks of systems and electrical circuits that affect the safe and proper operation of the vehicle (e.g. braking system, lighting system and steering).
- Engine oil level
- coolant level
- Tire pressure, tire type and tread pattern compatibility and wear.
- There is enough fuel in the tank to carry out the test.
- Check all areas near the engine, transmission and under the vehicle for oil, coolant, brake fluid and fuel leaks. Mark visible leaks and wipe down adjacent areas so that the extent of the leak can be determined at the end of the test.
