Procedure 1
Disconnect the battery | Connect the battery |
1. If possible, set the parking brake or place chocks under the wheels | 1. OFF |
2. Turn off the ignition | 2. Connect the battery wires - ending with the wire "MASSES" |
3. Wait 2 minutes for the engine management system to de-energize | 3. Turn on the ignition |
4. Open the hood | 4. Operate the parking brake switch several times until the parking brake warning light goes out |
5. Disconnect the battery wires - starting with the wire "MASSES" |
Procedure 2
Disconnect the battery | Connect the battery |
1. Unlock the car and disable the alarm with the lock button | 1. OFF |
2. Get into the vehicle, turn the ignition key to position II, apply the parking brake, then turn the ignition key to position 0. Remove the key from the ignition to de-energize the ICE system | 2.Connect the battery - starting with the wire "MASSES" |
3. Wait 2 minutes for the engine management system to de-energize | 3. Turn on the ignition |
4. Open the hood | 4. Operate the parking brake switch several times until the parking brake warning light goes out |
5. Disconnect the battery - starting with the wire "MASSES" |
NOTE: 1. Disconnect the battery - Unlocking the door will initialize the ICE system
Procedure 3
Disconnect the battery | Connect the battery |
1. Unlock the left front door of the car with the key | 1. OFF |
2. Get into the vehicle, turn the ignition key to position II, apply the parking brake, then turn the ignition key to position 0. Remove the key from the ignition to de-energize the ICE system | 2. Connect the battery - starting with the wire "MASSES" |

4. Open the hood | 4. Operate the parking brake switch several times until the parking brake warning light goes out |
5. Disconnect the battery - starting with the wire "MASSES" |
NOTE: 1. - Disconnect the battery - Unlocking the door will initialize the ICE system.
NOTE: 1. Connect the battery - If the battery power is not enough to disable the alarm, the alarm may be activated when the battery is connected - Step 3 allows you to disable the alarm.
Procedure 4
Disconnect the battery | Connect the battery |
1. Get into the vehicle, turn the ignition key to position II, apply the parking brake, then turn the ignition key to position 0. Remove the key from the ignition to de-energize the ICE system | 1. OFF |
2. Wait 2 minutes for the engine management system to de-energize | 2. Connect the battery - starting with the wire "MASSES" |
3. Open the hood | 3. Turn on the ignition |
4. Disconnect the battery - starting with the wire "MASSES" | 4. Operate the parking brake switch several times until the parking brake warning light goes out |
Procedure 5
Disconnect the battery | Connect the battery |
1. Get into the vehicle, turn the ignition key to position II, apply the parking brake, then turn the ignition key to position 0. Remove the key from the ignition to de-energize the ICE system | 1. OFF |
2. Wait 2 minutes for the engine management system to de-energize | 2. Connect the battery - starting with the wire "MASSES" |
3. Open the hood | 3. Turn on the ignition |
4. Disconnect the battery - starting with the wire "MASSES" | 4. Operate the parking brake switch several times until the parking brake warning light goes out |
NOTE: Disconnect the battery - If the remote control (RCM) does not function, you will need to unlock the car with the key.
(Extra) starting a car with wires and a donor car
Follow the steps below in the given order |
1. Connect the end of the BLACK (-) cable to the GROUND terminal (-) DONOR car battery |
2. Connect the other end of the BLACK (-) cable to a reliable source "masses", e.g. to an unpainted metal surface or engine mount at a distance of at least 0.5 m (20 inches) from the battery or fuel lines of a vehicle that has not been started |
3.Connect the end of RED (+) cable to positive terminal (+) DONOR car battery |
4. Connect the other end of the RED (+) cable to positive terminal (+) battery of a vehicle that has not been started |
5. Start the DONOR vehicle engine and let it idle for a few minutes |
6. Start the engine of a vehicle that is NOT STARTED |
7. Let the engines of both cars run for a few minutes, then turn off the engine of the DONORS car |
8. Disconnect RED (+) cable from the positive terminal (+) battery of a PREVIOUSLY NEVER STARTED car |
9. Disconnect RED (+) cable from the positive terminal (+) DONOR car battery |
10. Detach BLACK (-) cable from "masses" PREVIOUSLY UNSTART VEHICLE |
11. Detach BLACK (-) cable from the battery of the DONOR vehicle |
WARNING: During normal use, batteries give off explosive hydrogen gas, which can cause an explosion and serious injury. In this regard, do not allow sparking and the presence of open flames in the engine compartment.
WARNING: DO NOT attempt to start a car that will not start if you suspect that the electrolyte in the battery has frozen.
WARNING: Wear eye protection when working in close proximity to the battery.
CAUTION: Be careful when working in close proximity to rotating engine parts.
WARNING: Before attempting to start a car that won't start, make sure the parking brake is applied and chocks are under the wheels. Make sure the automatic transmission is in 'P' - PARK, the manual transmission is in neutral.
WARNING: Before connecting and disconnecting wires and then using electrical equipment, make sure that all electrical consumers are in the position "TURNED OFF".
CAUTION: Make sure that the donor vehicle battery voltage is 12V and that all electrical consumers of the non-starting vehicle are in position before connecting the wires "TURNED OFF".
CAUTION: Make sure there is no contact between the donor car and the non-starting car other than through wires.
(Extra) starting the car with an additional battery/starter
Follow the steps below in the given order |
1. Connect the end of the BLACK (-) cable to the GROUND terminal (-) car battery |
2.Connect the end of the RED (+) cable to positive terminal (+) battery |
3. Start the car engine and let it idle |
4. Disconnect RED (+) cable from the positive terminal (+) car battery |
5. Detach BLACK (-) car battery cable |
