Removal and installation of the generator 4.0L (Discovery 3)

Removing

1. Disconnect the wire "masses" from the battery. For more information refer to Specification.

2. Remove the accessory drive belt. For more information refer to Drive Belt Accessories (86.10.03).

3. Disconnect generator electrical connectors.

• Remove the protective cover, unscrew the nut and disconnect the wire.
• Disconnect the electrical connector.

4. Remove the generator. Turn out 3 bolts.

Installation

1.

CAUTION: Tighten the bolts in the order shown in the figure.

Install the generator.

• Clean the contact surfaces of the parts.
• Tighten the bolts (tightening torque 45 Nm).

2. Connect generator electrical connectors.

• tighten the nut (tightening torque 10 Nm).
• Connect and secure the electrical connector.

3. Install the accessory drive belt. For more information refer to Drive Belt Accessories (86.10.03)

4. Connect the wire "masses" to the battery. For more information refer to Specification.
