Removal and installation of the generator 2.7L (Discovery 3)

Removing

1. Disconnect the wire "masses" from the battery. For more information refer to Specification.

2. Remove the cooling fan shroud. For more information refer to Cooling Fan Shroud (26.25.11)

3. Release the accessory drive belt.



4. Disconnect the generator wiring harness.

• Reposition the rubber insulator.
• Loosen the nut.

5. Turn out 3 bolts of fastening of the generator.



6. Remove the generator.

• Rearrange the generator.
• Disconnect the electrical connector.

Installation

1. Install the generator.

• Connect the electrical connector.
• Rearrange the generator.

NOTE: Tighten the bolts in the sequence shown.

Screw in 3 bolts of fastening of the generator. Tighten (tightening torque 47 Nm).



3. Connect the generator harness.

• tighten the nut (tightening torque 12 Nm).
• Reposition the rubber insulator.

4. Put on the accessory drive belt.

5. Install the cooling fan shroud. For more information refer to Cooling Fan Shroud (26.25.11)

6. Connect the wire "masses" to the battery. For more information refer to Specification.
