Removing and installing the battery (Discovery 3)

Removing

1. Fasten the hood in the service position. Release the hood pillars.

2. Remove the battery cover.



3. Disconnect the wire "masses" from the battery. For more information refer to Specification.

4. Disconnect the positive battery cable.

5. Turn away 2 bolts of a clamping level of the accumulator battery and remove a level.



6. Remove the battery.

Installation

1. NOTE: Apply petroleum jelly to the battery terminals.

Reinstall the elements in reverse order.

• Tighten the battery clamp bolts (tightening torque 5 Nm).
• Tighten the battery terminals (tightening torque 5 Nm).
