Tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) helps the driver to maintain the pressure in the tires of the car at an optimal level, thereby solving the following tasks:
- Reduced fuel consumption
- Maintaining high operational and dynamic characteristics
- Reducing the risk of sudden tire deflation, which can occur due to insufficient tire pressure
- Compliance with applicable legal requirements
The air pressure monitoring system measures the air pressure in each tire (including, if necessary, spare tire) and warns the driver if the air pressure in at least one tire is out of range.
NOTE: In case "gap" tires usually experience a very rapid pressure drop. The system is not designed to warn the driver about "gap" tires, as this cannot be done in a short time. The purpose of the TPMS system is to help the driver maintain the correct air pressure in the tires, which reduces the risk of "gap" tires.
The TPMS uses a single-row hardware configuration. Instrument panels are available in two levels: "low level" with two LED indicators and "high level" with message center display and one LED indicator.
TPMS, installed with the high-level instrument panel, provides the driver with additional options for identifying tires on the vehicle and a more advanced interface.
