General information
The steering drive includes rods that connect the steering gear to the front wheel knuckles.
On each side of the steering mechanism there is a threaded hole for attaching the rod. The outer ends of the rods are protected by steering gear covers, which prevent the penetration of dirt and moisture into the steering gear.
The outer ends of the rods are threaded for attaching the rod ends. The rod ends are screwed onto the rods and fixed with locknuts, which prevent accidental movement. The tie rod thread allows you to adjust the position of the tie rod end to set the correct toe angle for each front wheel.
The tie rod end has a forged body and a threaded hole for attaching to the tie rod. A non-repairable conical ball joint is installed on the tie rod end, located in the conical hole of the front wheel knuckle and fastened with a self-locking nut. The ball joint has an internal hexagon that holds the joint in place when the self-locking nut is tightened.
