Steering angle sensor (Discovery 3)

Removing

1. Disconnect the wire "masses" from the battery. For more information refer to Specification.

2. Remove the trim panel from the driver's side.

• Release the clamp.
• Remove two screws.
• Disconnect the electrical connector.

3. Disconnect the steering wheel angle sensor electrical connector.



4. Disconnect the steering column intermediate shaft from the steering column.

• Note the position in which the part was installed.
• Unscrew the special bolt and discard the nut.

5. Remove the steering wheel sensor. Remove 3 Torx head screws.

Installation

1. Install the steering wheel sensor. Tighten Torx head screws (tightening torque 3 Nm).

2. Attach an intermediate shaft of a steering column. Insert the special bolt and tighten the nut (tightening torque 22 Nm).

3. Connect the steering wheel angle sensor electrical connector.

4. Install the cladding panel.

• Connect the electrical connector.
• Lock the clamp.
• Tighten the screws.

5. Connect wire "masses" to the battery. For more information refer to Specification.

6. Use T4 to initialize the new steering wheel sensor.
