The open type rear differential changes the torque transmission angle by 90°and distributes torque between the rear wheels through the axle shafts.
The open rear differentials for V6 and V8 models have the same gear ratios. Gear ratios in models with a TdV6 diesel engine differ depending on which gearbox is installed: automatic or manual.
The open type rear differential is located at the center rear of the chassis.
The differential is bolted to the chassis with rubber bushings and has two attachment points at the rear and one at the front.
