Service

The electronically controlled rear differential uses Castrol SAF-Carbon Mod Plus oil. This oil contains unique additives and friction improvers that improve differential performance. Do not use any other oil in the electronically controlled rear differential.

Diagnostics

The electronic rear differential control unit is capable of storing fault codes that can be read using the T4 tool or any other diagnostic tool that uses the ISO-14229 protocol.

This information is transmitted via the diagnostic socket.

The diagnostic connector allows the various control modules connected to the buses to communicate with the T4 or other suitable diagnostic tool. The data is sent to the connector via the CAN bus. This allows diagnostic information to be read and various functions to be programmed using the T4 or other suitable diagnostic tool.

Electronic rear differential control module uses diagnostic trouble codes (DTC), which correspond to malfunctions in the electrical circuits of the electronically controlled rear differential.
