CAUTION: Do not fill the differential with oil to the level of the filler plug. The filler plug is only used to fill the differential with oil and is not a level indicator.
NOTE: The only way to check the oil level in the differential is to completely drain the oil and refill with the prescribed amount listed in the specifications section.

WARNING: It is forbidden to carry out work on a vehicle standing on only one jack. Be sure to install reliable supports under the car.
Raise and support the vehicle.

CAUTION: Do not loosen or remove the large protruding hex plug on the differential housing.
Remove the filler plug from the differential box.
- Clean the area around the fill plug.
- Install a container to catch spilled oil.
3. Drain the differential oil.
- Clean the area around the drain plug.
- Remove the drain plug.

ATTENTION: There are two ways to attach the drain plug. Specify the fastening method and observe the specified tightening torque (see below).
Screw in the drain plug.
- Clean the drain plug.
- Differentials prior to serial number 254325: Tighten the hex drain plug to 54 Nm.
- Differentials s/n 254326: Tighten the square drain plug 3/8'' to 28 Nm.
5.
ATTENTION: There are two ways to attach the drain plug. Specify the type and serial number of the differential and observe the specified tightening torque (see below).
CAUTION: Use oil that meets the prescribed specification and quantity.
Pour the required amount of oil into the differential.
6. Screw in the fill plug.
- Clean the fill plug.
- Tighten the fill plug to 34 Nm.
