CAUTION: Do not fill the differential with oil to the level of the filler plug. The filler plug is only used to fill the differential with oil and is not a level indicator.
NOTE: The only way to check the oil level in the differential is to completely drain the oil and refill with the prescribed amount listed in the specifications section.

WARNING: It is forbidden to carry out work on a vehicle standing on only one jack. Be sure to install reliable supports under the car.
Raise and support the vehicle.
2. Remove the engine protection. Engine protection (76.10.50)
3. Remove the filler plug from the differential box.
- Clean the area around the fill plug.
- Install a container to catch spilled oil.
4. Drain the differential oil.
- Clean the area around the drain plug.
- Remove the drain plug.

ATTENTION: There are two ways to attach the drain plug. Specify the type and serial number of the differential and observe the specified tightening torque (see below).
Screw in the drain plug.
- Clean the drain plug.
- Differentials up to serial number 254845: Tighten the hex drain plug to 54 Nm.
- S/N 254846 and higher differentials: Tighten the square drain plug 3/8'' to 28 Nm.

Pour the required amount of oil into the differential.
7. Screw in the fill plug. Tighten the fill plug to 34 Nm.
8. Install engine protection. Engine protection (76.10.50)
