Removing

CAUTION: Make sure the bushing is installed without distortion.

NOTE: Note the position of the sleeve.

1.

WARNING: It is forbidden to carry out work on a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always place secure supports under the vehicle.

Raise and support the vehicle.

2. Remove the exhaust system. For more information refer to Exhaust System (30.10.08)

3. Support the axle assembly with a suitable jack.

4. Remove the heat shield from the axle carrier bushing. Turn out 2 fixing bolts.

WARNING: Bolts should only be used once.

Remove the bridge holder.

• Remove and discard the 3 axle carrier-to-axle bolts.
• Turn out a bolt of the plug of the holder of the bridge.

NOTE: Note the position of the sleeve.

Using the special tools, remove the axle holder bushing.

Installation

1.

CAUTION: Make sure the bushing is installed without distortion.

Using the special tools, install the axle holder bushing.



2. Install the bridge holder.

• Tighten the M14 bolt with a tightening torque of 105 Nm.
• Tighten the new axle carrier mounting bolts to 80 Nm, then tighten another 60 degrees.

3. Install the axle holder bushing heat shield.

4. Remove the bridge support.

5. Install the exhaust system. For more information refer to Exhaust system (30.10.08)
