Brake pedal and pedal bracket (automatic transmission) (Discovery 3)

Removing

1. Remove the headlight switch. For more information refer to Headlight Switch (86.65.09)

2. Remove the brake light switch. For more information refer to Brake Light Switch (70.35.42)

3. Remove the instrument panel access panel. Release 2 clips.



4. Remove the brake pedal bracket.

• Disconnect the wire harness clamp.
• Remove 4 Torx bolts.

5. Remove the brake pedal pin. Remove the clamp.



6. Release the brake light harness. Release 2 clips.




7. Remove the brake pedal assembly.

• Remove 6 nuts.
• Move the brake booster forward to make it easier to remove the brake pedal assembly.

Installation

1. Install the brake pedal assembly.

• Install the brake booster to the brake pedal bracket.
• Tighten the nuts with a torque of 25 Nm.

2. Fasten the wiring harness. Lock the clamps.

3. Install the brake pedal pin. Install the clamp.

4. Install the brake pedal bracket.

• Tighten the Torx bolt to 10 Nm.
• Fasten the wiring harness.

5. Install the instrument panel access panel. Lock the clamps.

6. Install the brake light switch. For more information refer to Brake Light Switch (70.35.42)
