Side airbag module (Discovery 3)

Removing

WARNING: Before carrying out any work on the SRS system, read the related information carefully.

CAUTION: Always disconnect both wires from the battery before working on the SRS system. Disconnect the cable first "masses". Never connect the battery with reverse polarity.

1. Secure the SRS system.

2. Remove an upholstery of a back of a forward seat.

For more information, refer to Front Seat Back Upholstery (78.90.08)

3. Remove an overlay of a back of a forward seat.

• Remove the front seat head restraint clips.

NOTE: If SRS system components need to be replaced, the barcode of the new part must be recorded.

Remove the side airbag module.

• Release the side airbag module wiring harness.
• Loosen 2 nuts.

Installation

1. Install the side airbag module.

• Tighten nuts (tightening torque 10 Nm).
• Connect the wiring harness.

2. Establish an overlay of a back of a forward seat.

• Install the front seat headrest mounting clips.

3. Establish an upholstery of a back of a forward seat.
