Tailgate outside handle (Discovery 3)

Removing

NOTE: If removing the outside handle involves removing other interior door components, it is recommended that you release the outside door handle and screw cover from inside the door after removing the door trim panel, regulator, and motor.

NOTE: Removing the screw cover may damage the clips holding it.

NOTE: If the screw cover is to be removed in conjunction with additional door internal items, then it is recommended that the screw cover be released from the inside of the door, after removal of the door trim pad, regulator and motor.

Remove the screw cover. Release 2 clips.



2. For removing the front door outside handle without removing the door trim panel.

• Push the handle firmly back, then rotate it away from the door and remove.
• Remove 2 gaskets.

3. To remove the front door outside handle after removing the door trim panel and regulator.

• Use a nylon-faced mallet to gently release the clip.
• Remove 2 gaskets.

Installation

NOTE: Use the appropriate length of wire to secure the lock lever spring while pressing the outside handle.

Reinstall the elements in reverse order.
