Warnings:
- Do not carry out any repairs to the fuel system while the engine is running. The fuel pressure in the system can reach 1700 bar. Failure to follow this instruction may result in injury.
- Do not smoke or walk with a lit cigarette or any type of open flame while working on or near fuel related items. There is a danger of ignition of flammable vapours. Failure to follow these instructions may result in injury.
- If fuel gets in your eyes, rinse them with cold water or special eyewash solution and seek immediate medical attention.
- The vehicle must be kept in a closed area with good ventilation. Signs must be posted around the vehicle "No smoking! Pairs of gasoline!"
- Wait at least 30 seconds after stopping the engine before attempting any type of repair to the high pressure fuel injection system. Failure to follow this instruction may result in injury.
- Wash your hands thoroughly after handling fuel as prolonged skin contact with fuel may cause irritation. Seek medical attention if irritation occurs.
- Do not carry or use a cell phone while working on or in the vicinity of any fuel related items. There is a danger of ignition of flammable vapours. Failure to follow these instructions may result in injury.
Caveats:
- Cover all electrical components and electrical connectors with a lint-free cloth before using a cleaning agent.
- Place all items removed from the vehicle on a clean, lint-free cloth.
- Check that the protective clothing used is clean and made of lint-free material.
- Use only clean, non-plated tools. Tools should be cleaned before working on the vehicle with a new brush that does not shed bristles and fresh cleaning agent.
- Use a workbench with a steel top that should be covered with a clean, lint-free cloth.
- Keep the workshop area where the vehicle is being worked on as clean and dust-free as possible. Dirt and dust from working on the clutch, brakes, or from machining or welding can contaminate the fuel system and lead to malfunctions later.
Using a new brush that does not shed bristles, apply the cleaner to the parts to be removed and to the surrounding area.
2. Using a vacuum cleaner, remove all traces of cleaning agent and foreign material.
3. When repairs are completed, dispose of the used cleaner and brush.
