Front muffler — removal and installation (Defender 2007+)

Removing

1.

WARNING: It is forbidden to carry out work on a vehicle standing on only one jack. Always support the vehicle with jack stands.

Raise and support the vehicle.

2. Disconnect the front part of the muffler from the catalytic converter. Loosen and discard 2 nuts.



3. Disconnect the front part of the muffler from the exhaust pipe.

• Loosen and discard 3 nuts.
• Remove the gasket and send it for recycling.

4. Remove the intermediate pipeline and the muffler.

Installation

1.

NOTE: Install a new gasket.

NOTE: Install new nuts.

Reinstall the elements in reverse order. Tighten (tightening torque 30 Nm).



2.

NOTE: Install new nuts.

Tighten (tightening torque 30 Nm).
