General procedures

WARNING: It is forbidden to carry out work on a vehicle standing on only one jack. Always support the vehicle with jack stands.
Raise the car and place stands under it.

2. Loosen the oil filter cap 3 turns and allow the oil to drain.

NOTE: Use a cloth to catch spilled liquid.
Remove the oil filter cap and oil filter element.
4. Remove and discard the oil filter element. Remove and discard the oil filter cover O-ring.
5. Drain engine oil.
- Place a container to collect engine oil.
- Remove and discard drain plug.
- Let the engine oil drain.
6. Install a new drain plug.
- Clean the contact surfaces of the parts.
- Tighten the drain plug to 23 Nm.
- Remove container.
7. Install a new oil filter cover O-ring.
- Clean the contact surfaces of the parts.
- Lubricate the O-ring with clean engine oil.
8. Install a new replacement element in the oil filter cover.
9. Install the oil filter cap and oil filter element.
- Tighten the oil filter cap (tightening torque 35 Nm).
10. Fill the engine with the recommended oil to the prescribed level.
11. Connect the wire "masses" to the battery.

12. Check the engine oil level and top up if necessary.
