Removing
1. Disconnect the wire "masses" from the battery.
For more information, see the chapter: Disconnecting and connecting the battery (414-01 Battery, Battery Mount and Wires, General Procedures).
2. Remove the cooling fan.

3. Loosen the accessory drive belt. Turn the accessory drive belt tensioner in a clockwise direction.

NOTE: Depress the brake pedal, apply the parking brake, select first gear to lock the crankshaft.
Remove the crankshaft pulley. Remove and discard 3 bolts.
Installation

CAUTION: New crankshaft pulley bolts must be installed.
NOTE: Depress the brake pedal, apply the parking brake, select first gear to lock the crankshaft.
NOTE: New crankshaft pulley bolts must be installed.
NOTE: Clean the contact surfaces of the elements.
Install the crankshaft pulley.
- Stage 1: Tighten the bolts (tightening torque 45 Nm).
- Stage 2: Tighten the bolts an additional 90 degrees.
2. Fasten the accessory drive belt. Turn the accessory drive belt tensioner in a clockwise direction.
3. Install the cooling fan.

4. Connect the wire "masses" to the battery.
