Oil filter housing — removal and installation (Defender 2007+)

Removing

1. Disconnect the wire "masses" from the battery.

WARNING: It is forbidden to carry out work on a vehicle standing on only one jack. Always support the vehicle with jack stands.

Raise the car and place stands under it.

3. Drain the liquid from the cooling system.

4. Disconnect the engine oil pressure sensor electrical connector (EOP).



5. Disconnect the coolant hose from the engine oil cooler. Release the clamp.



6. Disconnect the coolant hose. Release the clamp.

CAUTION: Plug all openings. Use new caps.

Remove the oil filter housing assembly.

• Turn out 6 bolts.
• Remove the gasket and send it for recycling.

Installation

1.

NOTE: Remove and discard plugs.

NOTE: Clean the contact surfaces of the parts.

NOTE: Install a new gasket.

Reinstall the elements in reverse order. Tighten the bolts (tightening torque 23 Nm).



2. Connect the wire "masses" to the battery.
