Review
The crankshaft pulley, through the accessory drive belt, drives the accessories, which include the vibration damper, alternator, power steering pump, A/C compressor, vacuum pump, and coolant pump.
The maintenance-free V-ribbed belt is automatically pre-tensioned by the auto-tensioner and passes over the idler pulleys to maintain sufficient grip on the drive pulleys. This eliminates the possibility of slipping the belt on the pulleys of the auxiliary units.
