Engine oil and oil filter

1. Change engine oil and oil filter.

Steering gear housing

1. Check steering gear housing for leaks.

2. Make sure there is no backlash in the steering mechanism when the wheels are in position «straight ahead". Adjust if necessary.

Transmission oil for manual transmission

WARNING: Avoid skin contact with used gear oil. Used gear oil contains potentially hazardous contaminants that can cause skin cancer or other serious skin conditions.

1. Change gear oil.

Transfer case oil

WARNING: Avoid skin contact with excessive amounts of mineral oil. Mineral oils remove natural oils from the skin, which causes dryness, irritation and dermatitis.

CAUTION: The transfer case oil filler plug must not be used as an oil level plug in the transfer case. Failure to follow this instruction may result in damage to the vehicle.

1. Drain the oil from the transfer case and measure its volume. For more information, refer to the chapter: Draining the transmission fluid from the transfer case and filling the transmission fluid into the transfer case (308-07A Transfer Case - ID4 2.4L Diesel Engine, General Procedures). 2. Fill the transfer case with the recommended oil. For more information, please refer to the chapter: Specifications (308-07A Transfer case - Diesel engine ID4 2.4L, Specifications).

Changing the oil in the transfer case
