Review
The volume of air supply to the passenger compartment is controlled by a 2-position slide switch on the center console. You can choose to supply air from outside or recirculate air in the cabin. When switching, the cable pull acts on the air supply and fan assembly. The air supply and fan assembly is located in the engine compartment.
Outside air enters the system through the intake duct, which is located in the front fender on the passenger side. The incoming air is supplied through the air supply and fan assembly to the heater assembly, and from there it is distributed throughout the cabin through a system of air ducts, vents and dampers.
NOTE: The vehicle is not equipped with a fine filter.
When the recirculation mode is selected, air enters the system through an air intake at the bottom of the instrument panel, above the passenger footwell.
The interior air distribution is controlled by the right RH knob on the center console. The traction cable controls 2 air dampers using eccentrics on the heater assembly.
