Removing
1. Loosen the rear wheel nuts.
2. Place secure supports under the chassis and remove the wheels.
3. Install a jack under the rear axle.
4. Disconnect the shock absorbers at one end.
5. Install the spring remover onto the suspension spring.
6. Compress the spring evenly to facilitate removal.
7. Lower bridge to release spring from top seat.
CAUTION: Avoid lowering the axle further than the flexible rear brake hose will allow.
8. Remove the spring plate.
9. Remove the spring.
10. Remove the spring seat.
Installation
1. Install the spring seat on the bridge.
2. Install the spring on the chassis and, using a twisting motion, install into the spring seat.
3. Install the spring plate. Tighten the bolts to 45 Nm.
4. Attach the shock absorber. Tighten the top bolts to 85 Nm. Tighten the bottom bolts to 28 Nm.
Note: On vehicles prior to VIN 737011, discard old fasteners and tighten new fasteners to specified torque.
5. Install the wheels, remove the supports from under the chassis and the jack. Tighten the wheel nuts to the prescribed torque:
- 1. Alloy wheels - 130 Nm
- 2. Steel wheels - 100 Nm
- 3. High performance wheels - 170 Nm
