Ignition switch (Defender 2007+)

Removing

1. Disconnect the wire "masses" battery.

For more information, see the chapter: Disconnecting and connecting the battery (414-01 Battery, Battery Mount and Wires, General Procedures).

2. Remove the steering column covers.

3. Remove the instrument panel.

For more information, see chapter: Instrument panel (413-01 Instrument panel, Removal and installation).

4. Remove the PAS transceiver (PATS) from the ignition switch.



5. Remove two screws.

CAUTION: Before removing, remember the position of the electrical connectors, failure to follow this instruction may cause damage to the vehicle.

Disconnect the 4 ignition switch electrical connectors.

Installation

1. Connect the wiring harness leads to the ignition switch as they were before removal.



2. Install 2 screws.



3. Install the PATS transceiver.



4. Install the instrument panel.

5. Establish casings of a steering column.

6. Connect the wire "masses" battery.
