General procedures
1. Make sure that the fluid level is at the maximum mark.
2. Warm up the engine to normal operating temperature.
3. Recheck and, if necessary, add working fluid to the tank.
4.
NOTE: Maintain the maximum fluid level in the reservoir. Do not increase the engine speed or move the steering wheel.
With the engine running at idle speed, loosen the bleed screw. When fluid begins to come out through the bleed screw, tighten the screw again.
5. Check fluid level.
6. Wipe off the fluid around the bleed screw.
7. Check hose connections, pump and steering housing for leaks by holding the steering wheel in both extreme positions.
CAUTION: Do not maintain this pressure for more than 30 seconds in a minute to avoid overheating the fluid and damaging the seals.
8. Carry out a road test.
9. Check and add working fluid.
