Removing
1. Put the car on a flat horizontal platform and install wheel chocks under the rear wheels.
2. Bring the wheels into position «straight ahead».
3. Raise the vehicle and securely support it under it or use a lift.
4. Remove the front wheel.
5. Disconnect the steering damper from the tie rod mounting bracket to the sector shaft arm.
6. Remove the cotter pin and unscrew the castle nut securing the spherical tie rod ball joint of the sector shaft arm to the steering knuckle arm.
7. Disconnect the sector shaft arm tie rod ball joints using tool LRT-57-018.
8. Remove the sector shaft arm tie rod.
9. Loosen the clamping bolts.
10. Turn out spherical hinges and remove from longitudinal steering draft of the sector shaft lever.
Installation
1. Clean the internal threads of the sector shaft arm tie rod.
2. Install new tips on the sector shaft arm tie rod and loosely screw in the clamping bolts.
3. Adjust the installation size of the location of the ball joints on the longitudinal steering rod of the sector shaft lever to 28.5 mm.
4. Adjust the center of the ball studs to a nominal length of 924 mm. This length is adjustable during installation.
5. Center the steering gear.

6. If necessary, align the position of the steering wheel.

CAUTION: A damaged or bent sector shaft arm tie rod must be replaced. DO NOT attempt to repair.
Connect the sector shaft arm tie rod to the steering knuckles and tighten the nuts to 40 Nm. Install new cotter pins.
8. Make sure there is full steering travel between the extreme positions.

Adjust the length of the sector shaft arm tie rod as appropriate.
9. Rotate the ball joints in the direction shown so that both pins are in the same plane.
10. Tighten the clamping bolts to 14 Nm.
11. Install the wheel and remove the supports from under the car or remove the car from the lift.
12. Road test the vehicle.

WARNING: To correct steering wheel deviations greater than±5°, remove and reinstall the steering wheel.
If the wheels are pointing straight ahead and the steering wheel offset is 0°± 5°in either direction, correct the position by adjusting the sector shaft arm tie rod length.
