Removing
1.
WARNING: It is forbidden to carry out work on a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always place secure supports under the vehicle.
Raise and support the vehicle.
2.
NOTE: Mark the position of the front driveshaft in relation to the front differential drive flange.
Disconnect the driveshaft from the front differential.
- Loosen and discard 4 nuts.
3.
NOTE: Mark the position of the front propeller shaft in relation to the transfer case drive flange.
Remove the cardan shaft.
- Loosen and discard 4 nuts.
Installation
1.
NOTE: Clean driveshaft flanges and mating surfaces.
To install, follow the removal procedure in reverse order.
2.
NOTE: Install new nuts.
Tighten to 40 Nm.
- Align the position of the cardan shaft with respect to the drive gear flange.
3.
NOTE: Install new nuts.
Tighten (tightening torque 47 Nm).
- Align the position of the cardan shaft with respect to the drive gear flange.
