Brake pedal and pedal bracket (Defender 2007+)

Removing

1. Disconnect the wire "masses" from the battery.

For more information, see the chapter: Disconnecting and connecting the battery (414-01 Battery, Battery Mount and Wires, General Procedures).

2. Remove the brake booster.

3. Remove stoplight switches.

For more information, see chapter: Brake light switch (417-01 Outdoor lighting, Removal and installation).

4. Remove the floor covering. Remove two clips.



5. Open the light switch. Remove screw.



6. Remove the light switch. Disconnect the electrical connector.



7. Release the front door span seal.




8. Remove the pillar trim panel "A". Remove two screws.



9. Remove the flooring from the bulkhead.



10. Remove the brake light switch support bracket. Turn out two bolts.



11. Remove the brake pedal and bracket. Turn out 6 bolts.




12. Remove the brake pedal and bracket.

Installation

1. Replace the elements in reverse order. Tighten (tightening torque 25 Nm).



2. Tighten (tightening torque 9 Nm).



3. Connect the wire "masses" to the battery.
